Back in November Freddie became the proud father of 6 blue roan puppies - 5 girls and 1 boy - the proud mum is Phoebe who belongs to our very good friends Pam and Lynn.  The puppies are looking great and are now 7 weeks old and will be going off to their new homes in a few weeks time.  Photo below of the puppies at 7 weeks old.

We have been taking part in some online shows with some lovely results for Freddie, Alice, Norah and Oliver - these have been great fun but we can't wait to get back to proper shows in the New Year.

11 May 2020 - Critiques from Richard Kinsley from The Kennel Club of Jersey Show held in November 2019.

Cocker Spaniel P De Carteret’s Annilann Miss Dynamite with Derrindee - Very promising young female that should have a bright show career ahead from todays showing.  At just 8 months old she is already well schooled and true on the move and comes to rest standing four square, yes, she is a little loose at times but that will rectify itself with age and toning. Scores well in head with correct mouth and dark eyes.  Shown in good jacket texture. BP & PG2.

BVIS De Carteret’s Bitcon Spy for Derrindee [Cocker Spaniel] Very typey 7 year old male that given his build and body toning would have found it hard to move incorrectly. Strong proportionate head without being coarse in anyway.  Developed in jaws and complete dentition. Balanced front and rear angulation allowing the freedom and fluency displayed on the move today. Well let down in chest and sprung in ribbing, topline holds firm thanks to the excellent body toning. All this finished with the best of jackets to complete the picture. All credit to his owner for keeping him so fit.

23 February 2020 - Finally some show news we had a very successful day at The Guernsey Kennel Club Members Show under Mr Julien Barney - Norah was 1st Cocker Spaniel Puppy, Best Cocker Spaniel Puppy, Gundog Puppy Group 1, Best AV Gundog Novice, Reserve Best Novice in Show and Reserve Best Puppy in Show :-) :-) qualifying her for Channel Islands Puppy of the Year 2021!!  Freddie was 1st Cocker Spaniel Open Dog, Best of Breed, Gundog Group 2, 1st AV Gundog Open Dog, 1st AV Gundog Veteran and Best Veteran in Show :-) :-) qualifying him for Channel Islands Veteran of the Year 2021!!  Alice was 2nd in Cocker Spaniel Open Bitch and 2nd AV Gundog Open Bitch.   Little Norah stole the limelight from her today :-)

Critiques from Mr Barney Cocker Spaniel P (1) - De Carteret’s Annilann Miss Dynamite With Derrindee. Pretty feminine bitch. Real mover who said look at me. Merry how they should be! Good spring of rib and loin. Needs to mature and fill out. BP & PG1.
.
OD (2,1) De Carteret’s Bitcon Spy for Derrindee. BOB & G2.  Happy Cocker which showed on the move. Well made front construction with good bone and fee. A good spring of rib. Short strong loin. Well let down behind. Moved well once he settled.  Well presented and handled.
.
2. De Carteret’s Kyna Slace Alice with Derrindee. Merry Cocker with a good spring of rib, kept a good topline on the move, like a little more work in her head. Lent into her shoulder on the move losing a bit of balance.
.
Best Veteran In Show - De Carteret’s Bitcon Spy for Derrindee (Cocker Spaniel). Super presence in the ring. Showed himself so well, is a real mover.
.
Reserve Best Puppy in Show - De Carteret’s Annilann Miss Dynamite With Derrindee (Cocker Spaniel). Showed her head off in the big ring and really enjoyed herself.
